Teachers

Loretta Thomas (Artistic Director) has been teaching and performing for over 25 years. She performed with Michael Sokoloff Dance Ensembleand Austin Civic ballet in Texas. In New York since 1977, she performed the Duncan work with Lori Belilove & Dancers and Dances by Isadora and with Catherine Gallant/Dance in addition to presenting her own dances. Ms. Thomas studied under scholarship with Merce Cunningham, with master Duncan teachers Julia Levien and Hortense Kulooris, ballet with Maggie Black, childhood education with Ellen Robbins among others in 92 St.Y Dance Education Lab and Chinese movement forms with Master Cheng Hsiang Yu. Ms.Thomas has taught at schools in New York and Texas, the Isadora Duncan Foundation for Contemporary Dance, Vassar College and her Murray Street Studio. Her students have been presented by the Tribeca Film Festival, Taste of Dance and Kids Café.

Francesca Todesco is of Swiss Italian origin and studied dance in Europe and the US. She has performed with Catherine Gallant/Dance and Dances by Isadora since 2000. In 2003 she became a member of Sokolow Theatre/Dance Ensemble and recently performed with Mare Nostrum Elements Movement Theater, Christine Jowers and Anabella Lenzu. Ms Todesco holds children’s dance classes in Hoboken and Brooklyn both in English and Italian and has also taught dance in Europe. She is a certified Shiatsu practitioner.

Bob Murphy has practiced Martial Arts for over 20 years in the Shaolin tradition and Tai Chi Chuan. For the past 17 years he has studied with Grand Master Yu Cheng Hsiang.
